Jonny Christopher Jr. was born on 9th of June, in 1963, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He grew up in middle class of family where his father John Depp was civil engineer and his mother Betty Sue Depp was just waitress and homemaker. From childhood Johnny loved acting and doing strange things. Because he was extraordinary child. When he was at 7 years old his family moved to Miramar Florida because of his father’s job. They lived in motel a few years. Johnny hated new place, problems with financial side that is why, at 12 years old he was interested in smoking and in drugs. It was stressful for him and to distract he locked in his room and humming a tune accompaniment with guitar. At the age 15, parents decided that he has to work in father’s office and earn money. But nobody understood that he is art person and when he was at the age 16 he left a work and the relationship between him and father was broke. Also he left high school and he lived in garage of his friend.
In 1983 he married Lori Allison which was makeup artist. Then they moved to Los Angeles where he and his band worked by selling pens for firm of telemarketing. But it wasn’t enough for life. That is why he started acting and his wife Allison introduced him with Nicolas Cage which introduced him with producer of Hollywood films. His first film was “Nightmare Elm Street” was in 1984. After that his band broke up as his marriage too. The next two years Johnny started learn acting with private coach. And after one year was his first role in TV show “21 Jump Street”. He became popular among teenagers.
His next role was in film “Cry Baby” in 1990 which became hit film and discovered him as great actor. At the same year he starred in the film “Edward Scissor hands”. This film brought $54 million at the box office. Johnny liked experiment with roles, he could play role like extraordinary, dark role, idiosyncratic. And most of people were interested in his acting. His next film “Benny and John” brought to him Golden Globe in 1993. At the same year he starred in the film “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?” which introduced him as professional young actor. In 2000s he starred in films such as “The Astronaut’s Wife”, “Sleepy Hollow”, “Chokolat”, “Blow”, “From Hell” and “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”.
But he became international worldwide star with hit and successful film “Pirates of the Caribbean” starring Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. This film brought to him Academy Award. The next successful film “Finding Neverland” where he played a role Peter Pan brought to him more than 10 awards including Golden Globe. In 2006 was released next part of Pirates film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” which broke up all the records of box office at the first week. The next part was released in 2007 under the name “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” which brought $138.8 million for the box office. At the same year he played role in film “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” which brought to him the next Golden Globe. In 2010 he starred in film “Alice in Wonderland” which brought to box office $116 million at the first week. His next roles were in the films such as “Pirates of the Caribbean 4” and “The Rum Diaries” which based on the book written by Hunter S. Thompson.
