The horse is a four-footed animal. Its legs are slender but strong enough to run few miles at a stretch without any break. Its hoofs are parted. They are shoed with u- shaped strips of metal nailed to them, in order to make them stronger for longer run. It has a long tail with a tuft at the end.
The horse is found in almost all the countries in the world. It is seen in different colours-red, black, white, brown or of combination of colours. Australian horses are very large, while the horses in Burma are shorter in size. Arabian horses are famous for their beauty and obedience. There is also a kind of small horse known as 'Pony'. The horse lives on grass, straw, grams and leaves of trees.
The horse is a very useful and faithful domestic animal. It is used for carrying men and load. In those days, when transport facilities were limited, the horses were used as vehicles for long journeys. The horse is an intelligent animal. It can be trained in many ways. It is used in war, circus, races, to draw carriages, and even in ploughing the field for cultivation.
